Plastic Bag Usage

Plastic bag usage is an omnipresent curse. Thankfully, more and more countries have started working on removing that curse – both from the environment and our lives. Well done to China, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Taiwan, Morocco and others.

Here is a bag like the one that my grandmother used. In fact, I have the fondest memory of this expandable bag and it would simply never ever rip. However, the material was nylon, which still is plastic.

A few years ago, I found these fantastic cotton net shopping bags and they have been in my bag ever since.  Actually, I got mine at Marqt in Amsterdam, but then found more in Naturalia in France. For those of you in the US, the below option from Kaufmann Mercantile works as well.
